What do you get when you bring together one of Britain's most well established retail moguls and the undisputed queen of modern American music? Atlanta is about to find out as Arcadia Group and its chairman Sir Philip Green and Beyonce have come together to co-found IVY Park activewear. The brand made its official debut at Nordstrom at Phipps Plaza on April 14.
The 200-piece collection with sizes ranging from XXS to XL, includes a variety of t-shirts, tank tops, hoodies, shorts, caps, footwear and what might be the most impressive and popular piece of the collection, leggings. The IVY Park leggings will come in low-rise, mid-rise and high-rise styles to better accommodate the athlete in every customer. The leggings also feature inner contour shorts for an added comfort. The "V" Mid-Rise and Linear Print V-Waistband Capri leggings ( both $62) are two options available at Nordstrom and online.
Prices range from $30-$200 and come in the line's signature colors of black, white and gray with a few selections in pink (the Oversize V-Neck Tee, $ 26) and blue (the IVY Park Logo Sports Bra, $36).
"The collection is great for people who live an active lifestyle and want high performance from their activewear," says Myrna Reyes, store manager for Nordstrom.
The IVY Park Seamless Crop Top ($35) is made of a polyester, nylon and elastane blend for a versatile look and feel inside and outside of the gym. The Jersey Tank ($25) comes in white or gray and is made from a polyester and viscose blend for is a cool option during hot Atlanta summers. Both garments are machine washable.
The Black 100 percent nylon running shorts ($42) are made with a mesh insert for comfort, while the Slim Leg Jogger Pants ($52) offer a 50 percent cotton, 50 percent polyester mix. The pants feature an elastic drawstring waist, ribbed cuffs, front slant pockets and are machine washable.
On the Topshop blog, the Ivy Park collection is described as effortlessly cool, body positive "athleisurewear" that blends what a woman wears to the gym with what she will be comfortable wearing after her workout is done. One of the standout pieces is the Reflective Print Hooded Sleeveless Jacket ($115). The jacket comes with an elastic drawcord, elastic cuffs and two front zip pockets. There's also a matching pair of Reflective Running Shorts ($65). The black and white zig-zag pattern looks both stylish and futuristic.
