She will discuss and sign copies of new book “Plan D: How to Lose Weight and Beat Diabetes (even if you don’t have it )” at the 7 p.m. Friday at the Shrine of the Black Madonna Bookstore, 946 Ralph D. Abernathy Blvd. S.W. Doors open at 6 p.m. There will also be free health screenings.

The book is the ticket to the event and all books must be purchased at the Shrine Bookstore. Admission for those without a book is $10, which can be used toward the purchase of the book that evening.
