Eggstravaganza: Join East Cobb United Methodist Church on the lawn for a fun, free Easter Egg Hunt. To allow all children to hunt for eggs, groups will be assigned a timeslot according to their age. 12-2 p.m. Saturday, April 4. 2325 Roswell Road, Marietta. www.eastcobbumc.org.

Easter vigil: On Easter eve, St. John's Lutheran Church will hold an Easter vigil, inclusive of the lighting of the new fire, creative readings of salvation stories, welcoming new members and the first holy communion of Easter. A festive celebration follows. 9 p.m., Saturday April 4. Alpharetta First United Methodist Church: The Bluegrass Sunrise Easter worship service will feature traditional Bluegrass music and a collection of sermon vignettes that will focus on Christ's resurrection and what it means for our lives. 7-8 a.m. Traditional service: Celebrate the resurrection with traditional Easter music and a message from senior pastor Dr. Don Martin. 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. 69 N. Clear Springs Baptist Church: Sunrise service will begin at 7:30 a.m. to be immediately followed by a complimentary fellowship breakfast. The regular Easter service will be held at 11:00 a.m. 11575 Jones Bridge Road, Alpharetta. www.csbcga.com.

Covenant Presbyterian Church: Worship service will include joyful music, flowers, a sermon and communion. An Easter egg hunt for children in graes 4-5 will be held at 10:15 a.m. Service begins at 11 a.m. 2461 Peachtree Road NE, Atlanta. www.covenantpresbyterian.us.

Crossroads Church South Fulton: An Easter play called "Overcome," will address Jesus' birth, crucifixion and resurrection. Free and open to all. 11-12 p.m. 304 Fairburn Industrial Blvd., Fairburn. www.atthecrossroad.org.

Community-wide observance: All are invited to a free Yom HaShoah Commemoration, which serves as a valuable teaching mechanism to remind and educate on what hatred and indifference can do. In addition to memorial prayers and the lighting of six torches, Shir Harmony, a Jewish women's a cappella group will perform.
