Informed court watchers: Howard Friedman, professor of law emeritus at the University of Toledo, will focus on the U.S. Supreme Court with his discussion, "Be an Informed Court Watcher This Year," from 10:30 a.m. to noon Thursday at the Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta at Zaban Park, 5342 Tilly Mill Road. Alex Nsengimana and Operation Christmas Child: Alex Nsengimana experienced firsthand the Rwandan genocide. He lost his mother to AIDS and later other relatives to the genocide. He escaped gunmen and found his way to an orphanage. Alex received a shoebox from Operation Christmas Child one year after arriving at the orphanage and remembers being so excited to have a gift to call his own. Alex was selected to join the African Children's Choir and traveled to Uganda to train and began touring in the U.S. Now Alex lives in Minnesota and will finish seminary this spring. He will share his story at several metro churches this month.
