The Festival of Chariots Atlanta will take place from June 3 to June 5 at Olmsted Linear Park and has the potential to be one of the most exciting cultural experiences in Atlanta this year. Also known as "Ratha Yatra," The Festival of Chariots celebrates the beliefs and practices of Hare Krishna. By attending this festival, you and your family will have the opportunity to see a beautifully decorated parade featuring the dieties Subhadra, Jagannath and Baladeva, take part in mantra meditation, practice yoga, enjoy live music and get a little henna. You can also receive blessings invoked from the Lord of the Universe and participate in dancing and singing to the sounds of hand cymbals and drums.

Alpharetta

Dads, spend a little quality time with your daughters in a way that everyone will enjoy at the Father-Daughter Night with the Atlanta Braves. On June 25, you and your little lady will start out the night by having dinner and making a craft at the American Girl Bistro at the North Point Mall. If your daughter brings along her American Girl Doll, she can send her doll to the Doll Hair Salon, and a professional stylist can give her the "Home Run Ponytail" hairstyle. After that, dads and daughters will travel to Turner Field for a parade, have a photo taken with the mascot, receive Father-Daughter Braves hats and settle in for an exciting Atlanta Braves baseball game.

Prepare your senses for the most fragrant event in town. The Roswell Lavender Festival takes place at Barrington Hall on June 11 and features a full day of lavender-filled fun, food and festivities. While you enjoy live music and Zen Yoga, you'll learn how to grow lavender and make lavender wands, bath salts and family essential oils. If you have a sweet tooth, you'll love the lavender-infused cookies, ice cream and fudge.

Summertime means the arrival of butterflies, and what better way to celebrate these beautiful creatures that at the Chattahoochee Nature Center's Flying Colors Butterfly Festival happening on June 4 and 5. View and enjoy hundreds of fluttering butterflies on the walk-through Butterfly Encounter exhibit, buy plants that butterflies will love to visit in your yard, take part in butterfly-themed crafts and enjoy live music and food. A live butterfly release happens both days of the festival.
