Captain, a 3.5-month old neutered scruffy terrier mix, is a sweet, silly boy with more legs than he knows what to do with. This handsome, wiggly dog is going to be large when grown, so make sure you are ready for a large adult dog. This affectionate boy will need structure and training in his new home, as all dogs do. The Atlanta Humane Society recommends proper crate training for all new adoptees to help with housetraining and general adaptation to a new environment. This adorable puppy might make a great addition to a home with well-behaved children, based on his temperament; bring any existing dogs (and children) to meet him. He will need occasional brushing to keep his coat free of burrs and mats. Terriers can develop annoying habits if they are not trained, including barking, chasing prey and digging. The sooner Captain learns the right way to behave in your home, the better his experience (and yours) will be. Large-breed dogs can have challenges, so research them before coming to meet this fine boy. Captain is up-to-date on his vaccinations and has been microchipped and dewormed. He will be available at 2 p.m. today at the Atlanta Humane Society Howell Mill Campus, 981 Howell Mill Road N.W. Sealed bids will be accepted starting at 11 a.m. if more than one party is interested. Please note that the highest bidder must meet adoption qualifications. Look at all our available pets at www.atlantahumane.org
