Uno, a 4-month-old spayed Great Pyrenees mix, is a fluffy puppy who needs a home with a family that wants a large, hairy dog. The Great Pyrenees is a flock guarding breed, so they tend to bond with their families and be wary of strangers. This breed can grow to be quite large, so Uno will need training early to get her started on the right paw. She seems calm and easygoing. Uno will need daily brushing and occasional grooming to be her best. Uno enjoys the company of other dogs, so she might make a great playmate for an existing dog who likes puppies. We don’t know how she feels about kids, but like most dogs, she would likely prefer calmer ones (bring all children in the home to meet her). The breed does not do well when left in yards by themselves, though a yard will be a plus for exercising this big girl. All dogs need structure and leadership, and Uno is no exception. The breed has been characterized as “stubborn,” but any dog can learn with proper motivation. Large dogs can suffer from hip problems, and it is wise to research the breed before meeting the dog. Uno will need further puppy vaccinations and a rabies shot. She has been microchipped and dewormed. She will be available at 2 p.m. today at the Atlanta Humane Society Howell Mill Campus, 981 Howell Mill Road N.W. Sealed bids will be accepted starting at 10 a.m. if more than one party is interested. Please note that the highest bidder must meet adoption qualifications.
