Pint, a 2-month-old neutered Schnauzer mix, is a silly, sweet puppy who will make you laugh and who should not be very large when grown. This adorable dog will need housetraining and obedience training to be her best. Terriers can be challenging; many display behaviors that can be annoying: alert barking; chasing fast-moving objects such as small animals, children, skateboards, bicycles, etc.; and leash reactivity (all which can be addressed through consistent training). They are smart, trainable and energetic dogs who thrive on structure and leadership. They need a good amount of exercise and stimulation to thrive. Pint may need grooming on a regular basis: brushing at home to keep mats away, and periodic clipping by a professional. Terriers can be good with kids if they are socialized with them early, but all puppies have sharp teeth and will need to be supervised around children. Children in the home can help with daily care, but should not be expected to take full care of any pet without adult supervision. Please bring all children (and any existing dogs) to meet Pint. She is up-to-date on her puppy vaccinations (though she will need more, plus a rabies shot) and has been microchipped and dewormed. She will be available at 2 p.m. today at the Atlanta Humane Society, 981 Howell Mill Road, N.W. Sealed bids will be accepted starting at 10 a.m. if more than one party is interested. Please note that the highest bidder must meet adoption qualifications. Look at all our available pets at www.atlantahumane.org.
