Kali, a 6-month-old spayed cocker spaniel, is a sweet puppy who loves to play. Cockers are typically active, but not hyper. They are cheerful, biddable with positive training, and when socialized well, enjoy the company of well-behaved humans of all ages. Kali is new to us, so we do not know much about her. She will definitely need structure, confinement and obedience training in her new home. Cockers can be a bit harder to housetrain than other dogs, and can suffer from submissive urination, so Kali would probably do best in a home with soft-spoken, calm humans. She will need frequent grooming, including daily brushing and regular clipping by a professional groomer. Their long, soft ears can be prone to infections, so have your veterinarian show you how to clean the ears safely. The cocker is a working dog, so Kali will need mental and physical stimulation to be her best. Please research the breed, including potential health problems, and then bring the whole family to meet Kali. Kali is up-to-date on her puppy vaccinations (though she will need a rabies shot) and has been microchipped and dewormed. She will be available at 6 p.m. tomorrow (the Atlanta Humane Society is closed today for the Easter holiday) at the Atlanta Humane Society, 981 Howell Mill Road NW. Sealed bids will be accepted starting at 10 a.m. if more than one party is interested. Please note that the highest bidder must meet adoption qualifications.
