A hellbender is measured by DNR technician, Grover Brown in a creek running through the Chattahoochee National Forest near Union, GA. Hellbenders, unique to mountains of eastern United States, are one of the largest salamanders in the world, and can reach 2 feet long. Length, weight, and overall conditions of the hellbender is recorder along with the collection of blood and tissue samples.
