Re-enactor Marvin-Alonzo Greer is shown during a Juneteenth celebration at the Atlanta Cyclorama and Civil War Museum, Friday, June 20, 2014. Greer is a student at Morehouse College and works at the Atlanta History Center. But on certain weekends, he dons the blue uniform of the Union army and participates in Civil War re-enactments. He's among a small number of African Americans who participate in such activities. Even on the Union side, Greer said he used to get stares from older, white re-enactors. He has traced 8 relatives to the Union side. Sometimes he also plays a freed slaves and an enslaved person. KENT D. JOHNSON/KDJOHNSON@AJC.COM
