Migos’ Offset is gearing up to guest star on “NCIS: Los Angeles” Sunday and the performer recently shared a clip about how his guest starring role came to be.

In the footage the Atlanta-area resident posted to Instagram, he explained he spoke to the show’s star, LL Cool J, who told him he saw “so much potential” in him.

“I was telling him that I was trying to get into acting,” Kiari Kendrell Cephus, also known as Offset, said. “I wanted to be able to show that I can do anything that someone sets in front of me.”

The rapper portrays Kadriv an agent who is deep undercover. Kadriv is tasked with infiltrating and finding special agent Fatima Namazi. Although Offset’s character is described as “a big asset,” he’s not too keen on helping because he doesn’t want to blow his cover, which he’d been building over the course of several months.

“I don’t wanna deal with them... but they needed me because I know the information,” Offset said.

In between cast interviews, viewers can get a glimpse of the hip hop star’s acting chops, which feature him doing his own stunts.

“I think people are going to be surprised because most of the time, when you’re a rap artist, they think you’re going to play a gangster or you’re going to play the thug or you’re going to play something closer to the street and he’s, like, completely away from all of that. This is the real deal,” LL Cool J explained.

The episode, titled, “Alsiyadun,” will also feature a new single from the rapper called, “Danger.”

Meanwhile, Offset’s excitement seems palpable, as he also shared screenshots of various reports about his appearance on his Instagram Story.

The gig is not the first time Offset will be a guest on the small screen in a primetime series. He previously appeared with his Migos group members Takeoff and Quavo in FX’s “Atlanta.”

Offset’s episode of “NCIS: Los Angeles” airs Sunday, March 1 at 9 p.m.
