You know what they say, Atlanta influences everything. Well that's certainly true for the March cover of GQ.
The fashion magazine featuring NBA stars Russell Westbrook and James Harden pays homage to Atlanta’s hip-hop royalty, OutKast.
The cover shot is a spin on OutKast’s 2000 album, “Stankonia.”
A behind-the-scenes video from the photo shoot with Westbrook and Harden, who both play for the Houston Rockets, also nods to one of the album’s biggest hits.
“So fresh and so clean!” GQ said in a tweet along with the video.
Of course, here in Atlanta, tributes to the hometown heroes, André 3000 and Big Boi, abound. Including a massive mural that popped up in Little Five Points last year.
“It’s ATL all the way,” the mural’s artist, JEKS, said at the time.
Big Boi shared the new cover and a throwback pic of him and André from their “Stankonia” days on his Instagram.
And while a magazine cover is one thing, next level fans of “Stankonia” may take a look at the Atlanta building where the duo shot parts of the video for “So Fresh, So Clean.”
The Castleberry Hill property has been on the market for months — for a cool $4.5 million.
