A local animal rescue organization is hoping its 10,000 followers on social media will help curry favor with potential donors and ultimately expand its outreach efforts.
“This will be very helpful as we raise funds for the build-out of our warehouse,” said Tammy Turley, executive director of Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue. “We have completed the architectural plans and hope to start the renovation early 2016.”
Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue, a non-profit which works to reduce the number of animals euthanized at local shelters in Metro Atlanta, is among a growing number of organizations using social media to garner support for their efforts and raise funding.
Its biggest fundraiser of the year - “2nd Annual Casino Night at Park Tavern - will get underway at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 20. A donation of $125 includes open bar, full buffet, raffle tickets and “casino funny money” to play Black Jack,
Craps, Roulette, and Texas Hold em’.
Tickets are limited and must be purchased in advance at mostlymutts.org/casino-night.
Mostly Mutts provides housing, health care, training, and physical and emotional care to rescued animals until they can be placed in a new “fur-ever home.”
