With the calendar filled with all-day outdoor events this summer, Atlanta has officially entered festival season. With the Southern sun beating down and limited bathroom options (read: pretty much all port-a-potties) available for a retouch, don't expect to hit up a festival with a face full of makeup and have an easy time retouching. Fortunately, there are plenty of products and tricks available to help you get the longest wear out of that pre-show makeup application so your latest late night pics of the occasion will be as flawless as your first.

Don't forget sunscreen.  It's a drag to carry around a big heavy bottle of SPF, but the bigger drag would certainly be skipping the goo and looking like a tomato for the rest of the weekend. You can grab travel-sized packages of SPF at drugstores for $1-2 (be sure to pick up several if you're going to be out in the sun all day), and regular re-application will keep you looking and feeling your natural best all weekend.

Use a Primer  A good primer provides a smooth base for your makeup and allows you to get the most mileage out of your application. For an all-day affair of outdoor events, make sure to pick a primer with SPF and look for descriptions that include long-lasting qualities. This Stay Flawless 15-Hour Primer from BeneFit comes in a smooth solid, cutting down on leaks in your makeup bag, and promises unusually long-lasting coverage.

Pick Double-Duty Products Walking around all day means that lighter bags are always better, so opt for dual-use products on the items you may reapply throughout the day. Stains like BeneFit's Benetint or theBalm Stainiac have your cheeks and lips covered without the sticky quality most lip glosses have (we can't have our windblown hair sticking to our lips) and Modelco's Lash & Line Super Lash Mascara and Liquid Liner conserve space for touch ups on your eye makeup.

Less is More With the sun beating down on you all day, opting for lighter coverage on your face will keep you feeling fresh for longer. Rather than using a heavy foundation, try concealing blemishes with a spot treatment and then grab a matte tinted moisturizer for the rest of your face. Jouer Matte Moisture Tint packs added SPF and goes on smooth, almost instantly transforming into a powder-like consistency on your face and staying put all day while giving your skin vital vitamins and antioxidants.

No, seriously—WEAR SUNSCREEN. If you think you'll smear the artful job you did applying that eyeliner or rub off the perfectly even foundation you applied, there are plenty of options that allow you to re-up on SPF without sullying whatever else is on your face. Peter Thomas Roth Instant Mineral SPF 45,a convenient, portable powder that comes in an applicator brush, is a great way to sop up oil while protecting your skin, while Supergoop's Defense Refresh Setting Mist with Rosemary is cooling triple threat, setting makeup, controlling oil and adding a line of defense against UV rays all at once.
