If you have kids, you're probably looking for some fun and frugal Halloween events that are family friendly.
The following are six free – or almost free – Atlanta events that will entertain the entire family with plenty of trick or treating, costume contests and Halloween-themed activities and music:
Boo at the Zoo – 9:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Oct. 22-23 and Oct. 29-30
Zoo Atlanta, 800 Cherokee Ave. SE, Atlanta. 404-624-WILD.
Wear your costume and enjoy a day of Halloween-related activities, as well as all the animals. Treats will be available throughout the zoo, and kids can also enter costume contests, wind through an inflatable corn maze, enjoy Halloween games and crafts, hear a live party DJ, and take pictures with characters like Splat the Cat.
The event is free for zoo members and children under three and is also included free with a general admission ticket.
Georgia A-Scary-Um – 11 a.m.-2 p.m.Oct. 30 and 5-8 p.m. Oct. 31

Dress in costumes and enjoy trick-or-treat stations, Halloween-themed crafts and photo stations.
Kids in costume will receive a free general admission with each paid adult or annual membership holder, up to two free children per adult.
Halloween Night on Callanwolde Mountain – 6-9 p.m. Oct. 28
Callanwolde Fine Arts Center, 980 Briarcliff Road NE, Atlanta. 404-872-5338.
Dress in costume and enjoy trick or treating on the estate, LEGOLAND activities, a live Halloween concert and DJ, a costume contest with big prizes, spooky storytelling and more. Admission is $4 in advance or $5 at the door.
Haints and Saints Halloween Parade – 4 p.m.Oct. 30
Starts at the Decatur Post Office, 520 W. Ponce de Leon Ave., Decatur.

Join in Decatur's annual Haints and Saints Halloween Parade, or enjoy the sights and sounds as a spectator. Floats, marching bands, families, community groups and classic cars will join in the parade, which starts at the Decatur Post Office. For more fun, stay for the parade after-party.
Howl on the Green – 6-10 p.m. Oct. 28
Duluth Town Green, 3578 W. Lawrenceville St., Duluth.
This family-friendly event is held on Duluth Town Green, and kids as well as pets are welcome. Watch fire dancers and break dancing werewolves, participate in a costume contest, take a spooky train ride and trick or treat on Main Street.

Topgolf's Annual KidZone Halloween Party – Oct. 29 from 9-11 a.m.

TopGolf will host its fourth annual Halloween party, which is available for the first 200 kids age 12 and younger playing Topgolf on Oct. 29. Kids can wear their costumes, compete in a contest and also enjoy "tricks, treats and targets."
