W. Kamau Bell’s “United Shades of America” premieres April 24 on CNN

W. Kamau Bell brings his socio-political comedy to CNN Original Series

Bell will host “United Shades of America”, which premieres at 10 p.m. on April 24.

The eight-part series follows Bell as he navigates subcultures across the country, using comedy to start a conversation about race and culture and how differences can be a uniting or dividing force.

In the hour-long episodes, he talks with KKK members in the South, visits one of the nation’s worst prisons and chats with hipsters in Portland.

In the KKK episode, a new generation of Klansmen claim they have rebranded and Bell must see for himself.

Bell is host of “Kamau Right Now!” on KALW in San Francisco.
