OK, Star Wars fans can holster their laser weapons.

The voice is back.

Entertainment Weekly reports that James Earl Jones will return as the voice of the villainous Darth Vader.

The 85-year-old actor was the original Sith lord and will reprise the role in the December release of “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.”

As Entertainment Weekly reported in an interview with Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy that Vader will return “sparingly.”

A variety of “large-framed performers will embody the character behind the mask. (David Prowse, now 80, was often inside the suit in the original trilogy.),” according to the article.

“Jones has lately performed the character on episodes of Disney XD’s animated Star Wars: Rebels – but many actors have imitated the voice over the years for games, cartoons, and other products. Onscreen, however, there can be no substitute.”

To that, we say, amen.
