Nadine Bratti swapped a brownstone in Brooklyn, N.Y., for a new contemporary townhome in Serenbe, a pastoral community under development south of Atlanta.
She only needed to see a sketch of the townhome plan to move forward and worked with designers to bring rustic elements into the contemporary style. The result is townhome meets farmhouse, Bratti said.
Bratti, who lived in New York City for 18 years, was drawn to what she calls Serenbe’s “city in the country” setting. She worked with Atlanta’s Smith Hanes Studio to design her gourmet grocery and wine shop, the General Store at Serenbe, while the townhome was under construction. For both, she said, “I really wanted to keep it in theme with Serenbe and just that rustic chicness.”
