An anniversary trip several years ago to Napa Valley inspired the design for Kristen and Sean-Michael Yonson’s new home in Georgia.
The couple, who now have two boys, bought a 2-acre lot in Milton last year and incorporated design elements and materials, such as cedar shake, galvanized steel and barn doors that reminded them of their stay in California’s wine country. Then they mixed in surprising modern industrial features, such as a garage door that offers true indoor-outdoor living.
“Anytime it’s warm, we open it up. The kids play there in the courtyard,” Kristen said.
