As the daughter of an artist, Jill Edee immediately knew her Milton home needed a fresh canvas.

She covered the gray-speckled exterior brick with white paint, giving it the look of a marshmallow, and repainted the interior walls with Sherwin-Williams Pearly White, in a high gloss.

“Art and design are in my blood,” said Edee, who learned from her mother, Pamela C. Renfroe, a licensed Coca-Cola artist. “I wanted to give it just a very artistic and fresh edge to the house.”

Then, Edee painted brush strokes of bold hues through her furnishings, draperies, decorative objects and artwork and turned a basement room into an art studio for herself, her kids and their friends.

“I have kids that come in here just constantly wanting to do art,” she said. “It’s amazing. We have bunnies and pugs, and we bring them all down. It’s kind of like an animal/art place.”

Edee bought her home in Milton in 2016 and moved in with her children, 13-year-old Livvy and 10-year-old James Spencer; and their pets, goldendoodle Ricky Ricardo, and pugs Elwood and Belucy.
