When Angelo and Dana Spinola bought their Buckhead home in 2012, they knew they wanted to create a home that was both beautiful and a good fit for their family.

“It’s very comfortable, but it’s pretty minimalist,” said Dana. “You want it to be fashionable but functional.”

With four children in the home, Dana worked to create spaces that looked stylish and chic without being unapproachable.

“I didn’t want a house where my three boys — and they always have a million friends over — can’t jump on the sofa with a blanket and hang,” said Dana.

In 2018 they worked with Pro Painting and Remodeling to remove the wall between the living room and the family room, creating more of an open concept floor plan for their ground level. Now the spaces open into each other, giving the home a better flow.

“It felt like it tripled our space,” said Dana.

Lately they’ve also worked to create cozy spaces, like the seating nook in the living room, a circular kitchen table and drapes between the family room and the living room.

“This last year has been about making this house a home for all of us and adding in those special things that brings that warmth in,” said Dana.
