Keith and Heather Ruth found a way to give their modern furniture a different vibe when they moved from Atlanta’s Virginia-Highland to a farmhouse-style house away from the city.

With details including a tin roof and reclaimed wood beams, they wondered, “How are we going to blend our modern furniture with this home and add in some stuff to soften everything?” Heather said.

That meant rethinking existing pieces, like adding upholstered seating around their glass dining room table, to bring comfort and functionality into the home. The couple bought the home after initially planning to buy a lot and build a custom house.

“We really utilize and live in the space, so I wanted it to feel that way,” Heather said.
