Artwork can brighten up and give personality to kids’ rooms, from nurseries to playrooms to teen spaces. Some parents obsess over finding the right images to place over cribs or beds, or to fill a wall in a room, pinning ideas on Pinterest and scouring stores, in person and online.

Choices for finding artwork range from stores such as HomeGoods and Target, to art-focused online retailers and sites such as etsy.com, to luxury home furnishing companies. You also can pick up original pieces at the city’s numerous spring art festivals, such as the 79th annual Atlanta Dogwood Festival, which runs April 10-12, the Inman Park Festival on April 24-26, Smyrna’s Spring Jonquil Festival on April 25-26 and the Chastain Park Arts Festival on May 9-10.

Beyond the festivals, here’s a look at the array of options for bringing artistry and color into kids’ spaces.

Lions, tigers, bears and more: Sweet options include baby animal portraits of deer, elephants, chicks, lambs, giraffes, tigers and others created by photographer Sharon Montrose, seen in the RH Atlanta showroom ($199, RHBabyandChild.com). Antlers are being used as a design element in homes, for people of all ages. The "Designer Deer" print on canvas, by Eli Halpin and sold through oopsydaisy.com, depict three deer with colorful antlers in striped, polka dot and other patterns (starting at $139). Ballard Designs' series of matted dog prints, such as a Bichon Frise, are hand colored and feature notes on the breed's characteristics ($125, ballarddesigns.com).

Best of books: Eric Carle's beloved children's books are turned into canvas art, making his illustrations of hungry caterpillars, Baby Bear and Mama Bear, plus whales, monkeys, giraffes, elephants and more available for bedroom and playroom walls (starting at $124.99 on overstock.com).

Vintage appeal: Old maps became new creations, with RH's framed dresses made of hand-folded and pleated paper maps ($599, rhbabyandchild.com). Pottery Barn's art includes a set of four vintage single-propeller airplanes, created in colored pencil and framed ($189, potterybarn.com). This spring, HomeGoods' options also included 3-D string wall art, neatly done and framed ($29.99, homegoods.com), and letters made of translucent shells ($24.99).

Floral and fashion: Fans of the recent "Cinderella" movie may be drawn to the images of printed colorful ballgowns, some in floral motifs, by artist Stephanie Corfee ($29, wheatpaste.com). Floral pieces typically can work in rooms from nurseries to teen's private spaces. One of the vibrant options is the exotic birds and flowers depicted by Shannon Newlin in her canvas art, called "Floral Inspiration," sold through oopsydaisy.com (starting at $59).
