Private Quarters: Midtown Atlanta condo is an artist’s oasis with gorgeous bird’s-eye view

Ron and Pippa Seichrist's 1,700-square-foot condo is located in the heart of Atlanta at The Brookwood. Built in 2009, the three-bedroom condo was purchased by the Seichrists in 2017.

Homeowner and artist Pippa Seichrist's latest work includes crafting these adorable dog jugs. Her favorite is the Old English sheepdog (right). "When anybody sees it they just start smiling and laughing," she said. Her collection will soon be sold at her favorite folk art gallery, Main Street Gallery in Clayton. The second guest bedroom of this Atlanta condo features many unique pieces, including the bed, which was hand-carved and built by homeowner Ron Seichrist. This piece was collected by the homeowners while doing their favorite activity: searching for folk art in the foothills of the North Georgia mountains. "When you see the guy with the gun you think 'oh he's defending his woman, he's going first'," said homeowner Pippa Seichrist. "But she looks very capable and aware. They're good partners." As a birthday gift to his wife, Pippa, homeowner Ron Seichrist commissioned a custom display case for her collection of birds' nests. Pippa has 18 nests total in her collection. "They're quite amazing craftsmen," Pippa said of the birds. Text by Anna Logan/Fast Copy News Service.

In the top right of this image is a statue that holds a lot of meaning for homeowners Ron and Pippa Seichrist. Ron was close friends with Maurice Sendak, the author of "Where The Wild Things Are." "When we saw this we both thought, 'That looks like a creature from Maurice Sendak's books,'" said Pippa.
