The 4,878-square-foot Atlanta home was built in 2018 with six bedrooms and five-and-a-half baths. David Goldschmidt, principal at DiG Architects, designed his personal home and worked with Post + Beam Builders.

The living room is David Goldschmidt's favorite room in the minimalist Atlanta home he designed because of its natural light and calming wooded view, he said.

The Velux skylights in the living room and dining room are a favorite feature, said Atlanta homeowner and architect David Goldschmidt, because of the "shifting light patterns throughout the day."

The floors are white oak with Rubio Monocoat, an all-natural oil wood floor finish.

The Wiggle Side Chair by Frank Gehry is David Goldschmidt's favorite piece because it is a "simple, sculptural and made of an unusual material," which is cardboard.

A bamboo Buden bed by Stem with gray bedding is joined by a red chair from Vitra in one of the children's bedrooms. The dresser displays Lego sets, including Big Ben and a Lego Technic Porsche.

The basement recreation room is filled with a collection of seating, including a pair of white leatherette Nova Metal arm chairs from sohoConcept and a sofa. The rust brown Voido chair, designed by Ron Arad from Magis, is one of the sculptural chairs in the minimalist home.

A grand piano is placed near the grand staircase by Image Design Stairs that homeowner David Goldschmidt said is like an M.C. Escher sketch.

The breezeway serves as a spot for gathering and viewing the terraced garden and home's exterior walls made of cement and Ipe wood. The contemporary outdoor furniture is from Vondom and Vitra.

The One Night Stand sleeper sofa in Edwards light gray from Blu Dot is among the modern furnishings in the new Atlanta home. The blue West Elm carpet appears to pick up the tones of the hardscaping seen through the window. The glass and chrome coffee table is from Sovet.

The house is composed of two bars that sit on top of one another, architect and homeowner David Goldschmidt said. One area is for public spaces, including the garage and guest suite, while the other area is for the bedrooms.

The exterior features natural Ipe wood and gray fiber cement board paneling. Core Landscape designed the terraced garden.
