When David and Shelly McIntosh moved into their newly built home in the Summerhour community in Kennesaw earlier this year, they immediately knew they wanted to personalize the space with modern lights, new fixtures and their own style.

The study nook and homework area on the stair landing in David and Shelly McIntosh’s home provides a great spot for their three kids to get creative or do their homework without being separated from the main living area of the home. Furnished with a sectional sofa and chairs that they brought with them from their previous home in Oklahoma, Shelly and David McIntosh’s living room is where they spend most of their time as a family. The fact that the master bedroom was on the main floor was a huge selling point of the Pulte Homes Vanderbilt floor plan for homeowners David and Shelly McIntosh. They like having their own space away from the home’s other bedrooms to create a haven for themselves. In their room they have side tables that belonged to David’s grandmother that the couple refinished and added new drawer pulls to, and they also have lamps from Target that Shelly repainted black. David and Shelly McIntosh moved with their three children, Hudson, Owen and Arden McIntosh, and their chocolate lab, Baxter, to their home in Summerhour in 2019.
