Augusta Wheeler says she has an appreciation for anything old and pairing it with updated pieces.

Letting go of design rules are ways that Augusta Wheeler said she creates an eclectic style. In this vignette, she used plants, macrame, framed bug prints and her kids' artwork.

For her dining table centerpiece, Augusta Wheeler used magnolia leaves from her yard and organic wildflowers from Evan Neal with Chattahoochee Queen, a vendor at the Grant Park Farmers Market.

Baskets are a versatile and budget-friendly accessory, said homeowner Augusta Wheeler. She looks for intricate designs, and in the dining room, she positioned the baskets to keep the eye moving up and over the painted faux fireplace. .

Augusta Wheeler said she tests the waters for her painted pieces in progress by posting them on Instagram (@thethriftyhippie) and getting followers' feedback. The china cabinet is painted Valspar's Northern Hemisphere.

Hats accessorize a bedroom while the arrow motif is found in a few spots throughout the Grant Park home. Augusta Wheeler is often on the hunt for thrifted furniture to repaint.

In the kids' bedroom, there's a nod to her son's namesake, Lennon, and her other son is named Cash.

Some items in the home were swapped with friends, such as the swing chair. The homeowner said she traded carpet for it. Now it's in the kids' bedroom.

The dining room is a favorite spot because it gets the best light throughout the day, said homeowner Augusta Wheeler. "It's home to many of my plants," she said.

Beaded pewter plates, another thrift store find, are layered on the hutch with wooden items and small sculptures. Even if you have an assortment of knickknacks, if they are arranged on a shelf in an orderly way, it can be visually pleasing, said homeowner Augusta Wheeler. The hutch is painted Valspar's Baby Blush and Coral Reef.

Colors, bold prints and textiles combine for the decor's bohemian vibe.

The kitchen is functional and cheerful, with the accessories spreading happy messages.

The tablescape combines magnolia leaves and wildflowers from Evan Neal of Chattahoochee Queen, an urban farm and specialty cut flower business, with the sparkle of a disco ball.

Musical influences and instruments, such as the organ, are key elements in the home. But the faux fireplace, painted dramatic black and pink, is one of Augusta Wheeler's favorite elements. She found it at a yard sale and has it in her dining room. "I just keep repainting it for whatever my vibe is," she said.

Prints upon prints create a casual bohemian vibe in the Atlanta home.

Moroccan prints and vintage rugs and throws are common elements in the home's bohemian and eclectic style.

Bold hues blend in the decor, which homeowner Augusta Wheeler, whose Instagram account is @thethriftyhippie, describes as bohemian and fearless.

Augusta Wheeler wanted to incorporate more black and white into her living room, and she did so in a modern way with her mid-century coffee table. "I thought of piano keys when I was painting it," she said.

Flowers from a neighbor add to the colorful character in the living room, which has a TV cabinet painted Valspar's Luscious Green. Homeowner Augusta Wheeler said she doesn't let color or pattern dictate her point of view. "Keeping your home neat and tidy can really bring a room together more than anything," she added. The home's bohemian greeting starts at the front porch in Atlanta's Grant Park neighborhood. Textures range from textiles and baskets to nature's bounty.

Augusta Wheeler is a hairstylist and has an Instagram account, @thethriftyhippie.

The copper molds are a nod to how Augusta Wheeler said her grandmother displayed Jello molds on her wall. "When I found them at the thrift store, they spoke to me," she said. Other copperware in her home belonged to her grandfather.
