Photos: Charming Inman Park home delights with its high ceilings, colorful walls

The American Foursquare in Inman Park, which holds its tour of homes on April 26-28, has about 3,000 square feet, five bedrooms and four-and-a-half bathrooms. The exterior is painted Sherwin-Williams Rookwood Shutter Green and the trim is Farrow & Ball Lime White.

In the basement sitting area, the rug is from Pottery Barn and the couch is a find from the app Nextdoor.

In the office, a stainless steel work table serves as a spacious desk. The leather armchair was refitted with a new seat and back. The walls are painted Farrow & Ball Inchyra Blue and the curtains are from Pottery Barn.

A guest bathroom features tile from Floor & Decor, a graphic rug and a wood-framed mirror from Urban Cottage.

The Duravit soaking tub, from Guy Gunter Home is fitted with a freestanding faucet from Delta. Patterned cement tile from Riad Tile also was added in the master bathroom makeover.

Round, gold-toned mirrors from Target, light fixtures from Final Cut and faucets from Kohler helped transition the master bathroom into a more modern space.

Indoor-outdoor living is seamless after a kitchen renovation, which also added storage. The design of the new island enables the homeowners to tuck in the wooden stools from Anthropologie and white barstools from Ikea. The doors and island are painted Farrow & Ball's Railings.

The kitchen island is topped with marble, and the Ruvati sink comes with integrated pieces like a cutting board and drying rack. The LIFX light bulbs in the glass-door cabinets are Wi-Fi enabled and can be dimmed and change color via an app.

A hoop chandelier from West Elm and marble countertops bring a modern touch to the renovated kitchen. The homeowners worked with Pritchett+Dixon and Tony Hawf of Horizon Homes and Remodeling. The cabinets, by William Orr Fine Custom Cabinets, are painted Railings by Farrow & Ball. The sconces are from Amazon; appliances are Thermador.

The quilt serves as a map of Charleston, S.C., which Lisa and Saleem Malik say they have grown to love while visiting their son who attends college there. The filing cabinet is from Scott Antique Market and the Anthropologie coffee table is an outlet find.

In the main floor's hallway, painted floor tiles from Mirth Studio are one of Lisa Malik's favorite design features. The home is on the Inman Park Tour of Homes from April 26-28.

The homeowners describe their interiors as comfortable and casual, with mid-century elements such as the Eames lounge chair and ottoman from Herman Miller. The wicker ottoman is a functional place to store extra blankets and the sectional is from Environment.

The leather chair in the TV room is from Italia Furniture, and the oriental rug is one of many given to the Maliks by Saleem Malik's parents.

The TV room's walls are painted Sherwin-Williams Black Fox and bathed in a soft glow by the paper light orb from Anthropologie. The coffee table is from Scott Antique Market. The homeowners repainted this room the same color it had been, covering the walls, trim and ceiling.

In the kitchen, a vent hood is made from reclaimed stair pieces from the renovation. Cleaned up, but left as they were found, the distressed piece pops against the Swiss cross pattern in the tile backsplash.

Walls painted Farrow & Ball's Rangwali and yellow velvet curtains from Ikea achieve a bold look in one of the home's five bedrooms. Linens are from Tuesday Morning and Serena & Lily.

The master bedroom has a brick wall original to the home while the rest of the walls are painted Pigeon by Farrow & Ball. The dresser is from Final Cut. The linens are from Schoolhouse, the butterfly pillow is from Sugarboo & Co. and the reading lamps by the bed are from Ikea.

The screened porch off the kitchen is one of the homeowners' favorite spaces. The wood and metal coffee table is from Bungalow Classic and the swinging chair is from Serena & Lily. The railing and floor are painted Benjamin Moore's Tarrytown Green.

Saleem and Lisa Malik purchased their Inman Park American Foursquare in 2014. Their children are (left to right) Hobie, 21, Campbell, 26, and Jason, 23, with dogs Wally (left) and Lewis (right). Lisa is a speech-language pathologist and Saleem is an obstetrician/gynecologist.
