Latonda and Kevin Henderson bought their 1920s Westview home in 2016, thoroughly renovated the home, and then moved in with their two children. When they bought it, the home had not been occupied in 20 years, and it had been left partially converted into a duplex. The couple recentered the door, removed several walls, and restored the home to match the 1920s style of its original construction. For Latonda and Kevin Henderson and their family, the oversized kitchen island is a hub for gathering. The grand size of the island is especially helpful at large family gatherings. “It’s one of my favorite places in the house, because when I look up and there are 20 people standing around the island just laughing and celebrating and talking, it’s magical,” Latonda said. A gorgeous carved armoire stands in the sitting area of Kevin and Latonda Henderson’s master bedroom. Originally purchased at No Mas! Productions 15 years ago, the armoire has served as a TV stand and a desk, and now it serves as a wine and coffee bar.
