When Jenniffer and Michael Marblestone built their home in 2015, they’d already been planning it for about 15 years. Michael lead the effort as builder, working with LandART and Tojo Construction to build their European-style cottage home.

Homeowner Michael Marblestone worked as a builder, assisted by LandART and Tojo Construction, to build his European-style cottage home in 2015. Michael himself sourced and salvaged much of the material for the home, particularly the wood for the flooring, beams and barn doors. A large four-poster bed is the focal point of Michael and Jenniffer Marblestone’s master bedroom. The light streaming in through the windows and the airy color palette in the space give the room a spa-like vibe. “It’s very relaxing and very minimal,” said Jenniffer. Homeowner Michael Marblestone salvaged all of the wood for the 12-inch plank wood flooring throughout his home from a farm in Illinois. Jenniffer Marblestone’s favorite features of her kitchen are the double islands. Each island is 10 feet long with a countertop of leathered granite and a large pendant light from Scott Antique Markets overhead.
