These drought-tolerant plants will thrive in metro Atlanta gardens despite the water restrictions.

Rudbeckia hirta, also known as Black-eyed Susan, tolerates drought and poor soil. The flower attracts butterflies.

Yucca are water-thrifty sun lovers that are great to plant in large containers or on slopes and hillsides.

Zinnia not only are easy to grow and drought resistant, but the more you cut them the more they bloom.

Bright petunias and salvia attract hummingbirds and butterflies and don't require a lot of water.

The big strapping leaves of Aspidistra elatior, or cast iron plant, will flourish in places where other plants fail.

Drought-tolerant Lantana are colorful much of the year.

Epimediums like dry shade and will even grow under a tree.

Variegated Solomon's Seal also likes it dry.
