What are the most popular nostalgic candy brands?

According to Yahoo, among Atlantans' favorite nostalgic candy brands, Necco Wafers, Good & Plenty, Bit O' Honey, Razzles ... and yes, wax lips, topped the local list. Overall, cigarettes and cigars made of candy, gum or chocolate top the list of most wanted items.

Necco Wafers rank high when it comes to Atlantans' sweet tooths, according to Yahoo. The sugar wafers that come in a variety of flavors were created in 1847 and have sustained soldiers and explorers at the South Pole, not to mention, generations of kids. In 2009, the company announced they would use all natural ingredients, including vegetable extracts for color. However, due to a steep decline in sales, the company announced in 2011 that it will go back to the original formula.

Nik-L-Nip Wax Bottles are fun, fruit syrup-filled wax bottles. "Bite 'Em, Drink 'Em, Chew 'Em" is the candy's slogan. They were created in the early 20th century.

Sugar Babies have been around since 1935, and were a variation of the popular Sugar Daddy lollipop. Reportedly the bite-sized caramel confections originally had a bit of bacon extract in them, but that has since been removed from the recipe.

The sour candy Lemonheads were created in response to the popularity of Red Hots, a cinammon-flavored candy. Ferrara Pan, the maker, claims it was the most successful candy of its time. Halloween is only the third biggest holiday in terms of sales, trumped by Easter and Christmas, nostalgiccandy.com owner Erica Maley said.
