A neon sign points children and their parents to the ride, which has been an Atlanta holiday tradition since 1953.

Steven Swofford and his brother Josh check out one of the cars. The pink train rolls through a giant storybook of faux snowscapes that include the Priscilla the Pig and Richie Bear characters.

Alex Richard and Tony Rhodes talk at the end of a tunnel. The ride opens to the public Saturday, Nov. 7, and runs through Jan. 3. It is closed Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Alonzo Hand puts a Christmas tree in place as Nicole Therrien connects the wiring. For those who want to ride the Pink Pig, bring your imagination and $3.

Jonathan Whitehead checks to make sure the Christmas tree lights work. The original Pink Pig was located at the old downtown Rich's and cost children 25 cents per ride.

A projection of a pig's head spins near a row of Christmas trees. A portion of the ride's proceeds will benefit Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

Stuffed Priscillas sit on a shelf, waiting to be taken home by a lucky boy or girl. These cost $15.

Ian Doby puts a fresh coat of paint on the outdoor sign. For more information, go to www.macys.com/campaign/pinkpig/home.jsp.
