One word: Mother. That was the prompt over 40 girls and women, aged 5 – 50, were given in Cut.com’s latest viral video. Just in time for Mother’s Day, the video is sure to tug at your heartstrings.

The subjects featured in the video "One Word: Mother (Women)" were asked to say what came to mind when they heard the word mother. Responses ranged from "beautiful" and "pretty" from the younger girls to longer explanations from teenagers that admitted to not having solid relationship with their mothers, but recognizing their mothers' love anyway.
As the women in the video aged, some associated the word mother with themselves. While a few expressed frustrations, caring and love was the overwhelming theme of the video. Many viewers will be able to identify with the various stages of a mother and daughter relationship: completely reliant on your mother as a child, butting heads and clashing as a teenager, and becoming friends as an adult.
The video is the third in Cut.com's "One Word" series. Past videos have focused on trending topics with one video asking black men of all ages to respond to the word police and the second playing word association with Ferguson.
