A feast of turkey day dining options in metro Atlanta

Don’t feel like cooking Thanksgiving dinner this year? No problem. Plenty of metro restaurants will be open on Turkey Day, Thursday, Nov. 25, offering all kinds of creative takes on traditional holiday fare. Here are a few highlights — just be sure to make your reservations early.

South City Kitchen, Smyrna — Southern-style Thanksgiving is the three-course meal deal, with starters including fried green tomatoes and butternut squash bisque, entrees such as roasted turkey breast, buttermilk fried chicken or shrimp and scallops with grits, and chocolate pecan pie for dessert. Rosebud, Morningside — Thanksgiving with a bit of attitude is what Twittering "angry chef" Ron Eyster brings to the table. The fixed-price menu features hors d'oeuvres such as pimiento cheese and smoked trout pate, entree choices of sage, apple and honey roasted turkey or Mexican Coke glazed ham with braised cherry chutney, plus family-style sides.
