Landing an internship can sometimes be a sticky situation. Literally, in the case of one Georgia Tech student.

Gursimran Singh, a second-year computer science student at Tech, recently took it upon himself to catch the attention of his neighbor, NCR.

From the comfort of his apartment, Singh used yellow Post-it notes to spell out “Hire Me” with a smiley face in his window that faces the corporate offices of the Atlanta-based Fortune 500 company.

The sticky notes (strategically placed in reverse) elicited the same low-tech response from Singh’s high-tech neighbor.

“Email?” appeared in Post-its across a window at NCR.

So Singh stocked up on Post-its to spell out his email address on the floor-to-ceiling bedroom windows.

"I spent a lot on sticky notes, but it looked pretty cool," Singh said in a press release from the university

“I was contacted by a few people, including the vice president of IT,” Singh said. “They asked me to send my resume, so I did.”

His efforts to stand out from the crowd paid off. After participating in the Hack GT event, sponsored by NCR, Singh was awarded an internship with the company.
