A Gwinnett County bookstore is closing its doors, but not before opening them one last time for a sale next month.
Thanking customers for their support, Books By The Pound announced on Facebook Wednesday that it will host a closing sale from noon to 8 p.m. June 12-20.

“We want to give our loyal customers a chance to redeem your loyalty points, have a great sale for everyone, and help clear out our inventory,” read the May 27 Facebook post.
“It has been a true pleasure to provide you, our community with the books you love.”
Partners Cris Williams, Justin Krewatch, Kevin Shaw and Todd Harrison opened Books By The Pound in a former Staples store in February 2017.
More than 200,000 books fill the store on Riverside Parkway, with most costing under $3, according to the about section on Books By The Pound's Facebook page. The store also sells heavily discounted media.
"It's like the book sale that never ends," Williams told the AJC in 2017. "This has been a wonderful experience so far, much more fun than I ever anticipated."

Upon hearing news of the store’s closure, customers have left remarks expressing disbelief and gratitude.
“Nooooooooo! Please tell me this is a bad dream. Thank you for filling my house with books. I wish you all the best in the future and hope you can make a comeback one day. I will truly miss this store,” one said.
Another commented, “I cannot tell you how incredibly sad this news makes me. My family only discovered you in the past 2 years, and I'm so very sorry that things took the turn they did with COVID-19. Wonderful places like this are impossible to replace! Thank you for years of joy, exciting finds, and deeply treasured books!”
