Dear old dad can’t catch a break…not even on Father’s Day.

To see if dads were getting more respect this year, the folks at Retailmenot.com conducted a Dads and Grads themed survey and found that 16 percent of respondents don’t typically give a Father’s Day gift. Among those who do, 52 percent will spend $60 on a gift and I can tell you that’s a lot less than they spent on mom.

Among the top gifts for dads this year are special outings — like dining out and sporting events — as well as more traditional gifts such as personal care, technology, books and sporting goods, according to research from IBISWorld.

The following ideas will get you on the right track, and (mostly) keep you near that $60 average.
