The growing season is just a memory, but it’s not too early to start planning for next year. Heck, if you have houseplants, you won’t even have to wait until next year.

That preparation can go beyond what vegetables and flowers to plant and on to new garden implements, particularly cool new garden implements.

Behold: Colapz.

Colapz, by Colour Wave, is a combination bucket/watering can for the gardener with space limitations.

It comes in three iterations — a 2.6 gallon bucket, a 2.4 gallon watering can and a 1.8 gallon bucket/watering can combo. Each version can easily be collapsed to about three inches.

“It was invented by a gentleman in Britain, and we’re distributing it for him,” says John Irvine, a spokesman for Gardena Canada, which sells a variety of gardening equipment. “It’s ideal for RVs, boats, cottages.” Not to mention camping and gardening — and small apartments.

The UV-resistant and frost-proof containers, made of recycled plastic, come in seven eye-popping colors. There’s a splash guard and an end cap for when it’s a bucket. Also, the nozzle and other components store in the base. There’s a water-level indicator on the side, and a loop on top facilitates hanging the Colapz in the garage or garden shed.

Colapz is available at independent garden centers and select hardware stores, selling from $15 to $25. For a video of Colapz in action, go to bit.ly/1qOOu9e
