History: In 2011, a group of about 10 friends came together with a singular objective — to provide meals to homeless individuals in Atlanta. Good Day! Good Deeds! Friends Giving Back now has more than 300 volunteers.

Did you know: On the third Saturday of each month, lively music, positive energy and warm smiles are lifting spirits. At Hurt Park in downtown Atlanta, they serve hot meals, a drink and a dessert. Essential toiletries, blankets, socks, bags and clothing are also given away. All donations go toward their monthly community service.

Motto: "Homelessness involves people without homes, not people without hope."

How can you help: They encourage people to get involved with homeless organizations such as Covenant House Georgia, Gateway Center and Hope Atlanta. This aligns with their philosophy that change can happen when people come together as a community.
