The beverage director at The Optimist shares the secret for the A Nod & A Wink cocktail.

A Nod & A Wink from the bar at The Optimist is a great cocktail. Really refreshing. I'd love to make it at home if it's not too complicated. Can you get the recipe? — Greg Cooper, Acworth

This drink was created by The Optimist’s beverage director Eduardo Porto Carreiro and the Optimist bar team. “It was initially inspired by the classic Martinez cocktail but evolved from there, thus the name ‘a nod and a wink’ to that old drink. Using Bristow gin as a base was important to us because of the balance of botanicals and the underlying orange note that shines through the spirit,” Porto Carreiro said.
