Have you tried the Georgia cookie that made the list of best chocolate chip cookies in the US?
The best chocolate chip cookie title has been contested.
Though Muss & Turner's is still in the afterglow of winning the title of best chocolate chip cookie in Georgia from one travel site, a Savannah bakery has just nabbed the same title from a celebrated online food magazine.
Earlier this month, Delish.com placed Back in the Day Bakery's chocolate chip cookie on its "The Best Chocolate Chip Cookies In Every State" list.
The bakery, located at 2403 Bull St., Savannah, offers up “old-school” treats in a vintage-style spot. Delish.com selected reviews from Yelp to fill out their list of the top 50 chocolate chip cookies.
After visiting Back in the Day Bakery, one Yelp user wrote:
"There was the chocolate chip cookie sprinkled with salt and a huge dollop of chocolate in the middle. My son would not stop mmm-ing."
Dining critics also have a place in their tummies for the Savannah bakery. In 2015, Back in the Day co-owners Cheryl and Griffith Day received a James Beard nomination for outstanding bakers.
