My book club went to The Wrecking Bar in Little Five Points to discuss our monthly selection. One of our members ordered their Tofu Sandwich and quickly had us all try a bite. It was delicious! Since then, I have thought about going back just to order this sandwich — and I am not a big fan of tofu! I would love the recipe if The Wrecking Bar will share. Thanks! — Danielle Carter, Atlanta
Terry Koval of The Wrecking Bar is one of Atlanta’s most generous chefs, always willing to share a recipe. This sandwich is no longer on the menu, but The Wrecking Bar is making it available for a limited time right now.
Koval serves the sandwich on pain de mie buns from TGM Bread. You can buy those, too, but call ahead to the bakery at 678-927-9131 to make sure they’re available, or substitute your favorite hamburger bun. Pure Abundance Luna is a delicious cashew-based dairy-free cheese available at Whole Foods, Nature’s Garden Express at Krog Street Market, Sevananda and Nuts ‘n Berries.
