Best bites: Mini heart cookies

Just in time for Valentine’s Day comes this box of chocolate-flavored, heart-shaped cookies, and they are great. They are from Trader Joe’s, and what makes them special is the fact that they begin with chocolate shortbread, which is then covered with a thin layer of dark chocolate, topped with colorful nonpareils, those tiny round sprinkles. They’re crispy too, which somehow makes them even better.
