Fernbank After Dark is a monthly affair — offering an after hours chance for adults to enjoy the museum with a spread of drinks, food and entertainment. This month’s event features a festive twist.

Happening on Dec. 13, the holiday party will include full access to the museum’s exhibits, holiday decorations and live jazz music.

It kicks off at 7 p.m. with a chance to wonder through the two floors of decorated trees that showcase celebrations from around the world. Throughout the evening there will be multiple screenings of “Penguins 3D,” which tells the tale of a king penguin waddling his way through the wild, in search of a mate.

The holiday party will also include live music from Cadillac Jones, a funk-jazz group.

Space is limited, so buying tickets in advance is recommended. Tickets are $14.95 for members and $19.95 for non-members. Tickets are not refundable.

Since parking is limited at the museum, using ride shares is encouraged.

Fernbank After Dark has been held the second Friday of each month since it kicked off in 2017.

"Guests will experience something different and exciting each time they attend Fernbank After Dark," Sara Brumfield, with the museum said in a press release at the time. "We are excited to offer the Museum in an adults-only environment and are thrilled to work with a wide array of partners so that each event will spark an interest in something new for our visitors."
