Of course, you think your dog is pretty awesome.

Does your pooch, though, have what it takes to be Piedmont Park’s Dog of the Year?

Dog of the Year status from Aug. 11 throughJuly 31, 2019; entry to this year’s Splish Splash Doggie Bash and next spring’s Doggie Dash 5K; and will attend a photoshoot to equip the conservancy with photographs to help promote the nonprofit’s work.

Contestants will go through an initial photo contest to gain the most likes. The top six dogs will then attend an in-park contest on Aug. 11 to compete for the title.

It takes some work, though. There’s no bathing suit competition, but  dogs will have to sit for the owner, walk with the owner (without walking the owner) and display 15 to 30 seconds of free-play.
