Dan Britt feels as if he can step out into the view from his condo in The Concorde, a high-rise complex near Buckhead Atlanta. The building’s design has points that project out, getting him a bit closer to his skyline vista over the treetops.

The 30th-floor unit is the smallest penthouse in the complex, yet the layout was ideal for his mid-century modern furniture and abstract art, he said. With its clean lines and lack of bulk, the furniture doesn’t block the scenery or ability to walk onto the prow points to look out and down to the street.

“The view upon first entering is incredibly dramatic,” said Britt, a vocalist who moved from New York City to Atlanta in 2001 to serve as executive director of the Atlanta Lyric Theatre. “The most important focus is the view and I did not want anything in my home to compete with it. I wanted all of it together to create an eclectic, yet serene, and peaceful environment.”

Favorite outdoor feature: The floor-to-ceiling windows and prow points in the building's design, which Britt said offer 360-degree views.

Favorite furniture: His Yamaha 6.1-foot baby grand piano and his rosewood and teak dining table from Cantoni. "Both of these pieces now have many stories associated with them for good times and great conversations over food, drink and music," said Britt, a vocalist who has lived and performed in NYC.
