Atlanta is a city with many talented artists, including a plethora of skilled skaters. This week's Best of Atlanta poll discovered the best skate parks around.

Number one goes to Kennesaw Skatepark, boasting more rails, tranny, ledges and stairs than you could ever desire. It's a 40,000 square foot skateboarding nirvana that's also an authentic Street League Pro-Style facility.

Second runner up is no other than the Historic Fourth Ward Skatepark, praised by Tony Hawk for it's design and offerings for skaters of all levels. Located on the Beltline, you'll be around plenty of restaurants and other activities only a short stroll away.

Have you been to Da Playground yet? If not, you're missing out on 15,200 square feet of boarder's paradise situated under Phipps Plaza.  It regularly welcomes up-and-coming visitors and tested talent like Miles Silvas and Paul. Skating here is by invitation only.

These aren't the only spots to hit up around Atlanta. Grab your boards and check out our official nominees as well: McKoy Skatepark (DeKalb), Brook Run Skate Park (DeKalb), Ronald Reagan Skatepark (Gwinnett), Roswell Skate Park (North Fulton), ChutingStar Skate Park (Cobb) and Ronald Reagan Skate Park (Gwinnett).

You can catch resident swift gliders around town putting together magical combinations and unbelievable stunts. Even if you don't partake in the sport, watching is most of the fun.

Here are 9 things that you probably didn't know about Atlanta, including a hip skate park in Buckhead.
