Atlanta-based Tropical Smoothie Cafe has pledged to giveaway 100,000 smoothies to health care workers and first responders amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Across the country, brands from Crocs to Kripsy Kreme, have found ways to thank the workers on the frontlines of the virus.

Tropical Smoothie said in a press release that they are “working tirelessly to support our local communities, which are currently facing unprecedented hardship.”

"Our safety is dependent upon the selfless, hard work of our local healthcare workers and first responders and we want to help them in any way we can. The 100K smoothie giveaway is a simple, but impactful example of one way we can show our gratitude and bring a smile to their face – one sip at a time,”  Tropical Smoothie CEO Charles Watson said in the statement.

The Atlanta-based fast-casual chain has more than 830 locations across the country. According to the press release, the company has challenged each of its  locations, including in Atlanta, to donate 100 smoothies to area hospitals.
